IOWPA — Indiana Onsite Wastewater Professionals Association
IOWPA offers three distinct installer certifications covering every class of residential septic system under Indiana State Rule 410 IAC 6-8.3. Valpo Excavation holds all three — making us one of the most comprehensively certified septic installers in Northwest Indiana.
Presby Environmental (PEI) designs advanced combined treatment and dispersal (CTD) septic systems that deliver high-level wastewater treatment in a small footprint — ideal for tight lots, high water tables, and challenging soil conditions. As certified Presby installers, we are trained and authorized to properly size, install, and commission these systems for residential and commercial applications.
Eljen Corporation is a global leader in onsite wastewater treatment, best known for their Geotextile Sand Filter (GSF) system — a passive, advanced treatment solution for tight lots, high water tables, and poor soil conditions. Established in 1970 and trusted worldwide for over 50 years, Eljen GSF systems are the go-to solution when conventional drainfields are not viable. Our certified status means we are trained to install these systems to manufacturer specification.
Hydro-Action manufactures Class I Aerobic Treatment Units (ATUs) that use oxygen-driven bacterial action to treat wastewater to a high level of clarity — "green from the ground up." Their Set-N-Go® system is the most complete Class I treatment package available, meeting ANSI/NSF and EPA standards. As certified Hydro-Action installers, we are qualified to install, service, and commission these aerobic systems for residential and commercial properties.
SludgeHammer introduces advanced microbiology to wastewater engineering. Their Aerobic Bacterial Generator (ABG) retrofits into existing conventional septic systems, converting them into highly efficient biological treatment units — using only the energy equivalent of a single light bulb. IAPMO/UPC certified and NSF-40 compliant, SludgeHammer is a proven solution for failing systems, sensitive lakefront properties, and high-flow commercial applications.
